Gallery Labo to Showcase New Work by Nagato Hiromu

September 23 to 30

Nagato Hiromu is a self-described "Tobe potter." Tobe is a leading production center for cobalt blue underglazed porcelain, which its kilns have produced since the mid-18th century. But the spirit of pottery that Nagato has absorbed there has manifested not in porcelain but in a series of striking earthenware and stoneware works. Those works captured the attention of the artists whose pottery we handle at Gallery Labo. And this exhibition came about at their enthusiastic urging.
