Komiya Yukina brings a literal commentary to pottery that is rare to the genre. Her work invites attention with compelling message, as well as with masterly craft. A native of Okinawa, Komiya encountered Chinese culture early through her maternal grandfather, who was Chinese, and her maternal grandmother, who was Taiwanese. She moved to Taiwan in 2014 and now works out of a pottery studio that she shares with a friend.
